Matrix Hold Off Red Devils

The Pownal Red Devils were in action Tuesday night against the Mid Isle Matrix. The boys were trying to stay on a roll of good solid play at both ends of the ice that started just prior to the Moncton road trip.
 
Things looked promising when Lance Kennedy scored on a nice passing play from Drew MacPhee and Carson Lund with 8:50 left in the first. But the Matrix answered back with 2 goals to end the first period 2 to 1.
 
Mid Isle made it to the score sheet first in the second period to make it 3 to 1. Shortly after Holden Bradley buried a low blocker side lazer with assists going to Simon Hughes and Landon MacDonald. With the boys trying to hold their own but not showing the same determination as they did in Moncton, they found themselves down 5 to 2 midway through the third period.
 
Holden would score his second of the game on an outstanding pass from Simon. Cole McKeigan also gathered an assist on the play and closed the gap to 5 to 3. Just 23 seconds later more wind was taken from our sail with a Matrix goal to move them up 6 to 3. Luca LeClair ended the scoring the for the boys on the powerplay with Simon and Cole drawing assists.
