Initiation Home Opener

Last night at the Pownal Stadium team black played team white in the 2nd/3rd year initiation home opener. The action packed battle of the blades was a great way to start the season. Chris Lea rallied the players on the black bench while Joey Robbins refereed the squads.  Robbie Wilson lead the white bench in Calvin Larkin’s absence.

Team black took a commanding lead from leading scorers Marshall Lea, Jevon Morrow and Owen Matheson. Assists were awarded to Brae Johnston, Nate Ford and Jaxsen Carragher.  Team white commanded back in the second half of the game with 5 unanswered goals from Evan Nicholson, Tristan Holland (assisted by Abbey Larkin), Aiden Wilson, Elena LeClair and Justin Hughes.

Both teams excelled defensively lead by the "twin towers" Brennan and Griffin Robbins. Cohen Campbell, Logan Gregory, Reeve Brehaut, Connor MacAulay, Jacob Enman, Payton Richard were also forces to be reckoned with.

Spectators were heard to say they were sore and exhausted from laughing and crying, thought it was great entertainment and were pleasantly surprised at the skill level of all the kids!  Both teams hit the ice again tonight for a practice and will continue to work hard on their skills and sportsmanship while preparing for the Tykes Jamboree in Cornwall on December 28.
