Pownal Pee Wee AAA defeat Mid Isle Matrix 8-5

The Pownal Pee Wee AAA Red Devils defeated the Mid Isle Matrix 8-5 on Tuesday night  in league play in Rustico. The Pownal squad got off to a great start and quickly rushed out to an early 3-0 lead in the first period. Pownal had a strong second period out shooting the Matrix 15-4 in the frame and increased their lead to 5-1 after two. The Matrix team would not go away easy as they stormed out in the third to score 4 goals in the final 12 minutes to make the game very interesting in the late stages. Pownal was able to hold off the late attack of the Matrix  and skate to an 8-5 win with the help of two empty net goals.  Caleb Drake earned the win in the Pownal net.

Point getters on the night for Pownal were Isaac Wilson 2 goals , 2 assists, Riley MacDougall 2 goals , 2 aasists, Michael Gallant 2 goals, Luke Garnhun 1 goal, 1 assist, Cole Larkin 1 goal, 1 assist, and Sam MacNeill 1 assist. 

Next up,  Pownal will play the surging Sherwood Pee wee AAA Falcons in a home and home series. First Pownal will travel to Sherwood on Friday night for an  8:15 pm game at the Cody Banks Arena. Then on Wednesday December 3rd Pownal will host the Falcons at home at 6:20 pm.
