The Pownal PeeWee AAs hit the ice for an exhibition game last night against the North River Flames at the APM Centre.  The 3-3 final score was indicative of the fast-paced play at both ends of the ice.

Pownal took the lead early when Sam Parsons put one in up high, with assists from Lance Kennedy and David MacLeod. The Flames tied it up in the second. But the the Red Devils came right back when Dylan Batchilder put one in with helpers from Kennedy and Parsons on a power play. The Flames tied it up again in the third, but Pownal came back again when Batchilder scored his second with assists from Carson Lund and Tyler Phelan. The home team tied it up for the third time with less than a minute left to go.

Batchilder, Kennedy and Parsons all had two point nights. Our D-men stood their ground and were effective in both the defensive and offensive zones.  Goalies Carson Gray, Nathan Bruce and Brady Storey were all solid behind the pipes for the team, with each of them making some spectacular saves.

Devils' fans in the stands thought the team played well together...although there was quite of bit of consultation in the stands about who was wearing what number.  We'll have it figured out by the next game when they meet the Falcons at Cody Banks Arena on Saturday at 2:30pm for another exhibition game.
