HOCKEY PEI ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING CONCLUDES

Members joined together for the 39th Annual General Meeting of Hockey PEI which took place on June 26th at the Rodd Royalty Inn in Charlottetown.   The annual meeting included council and committee reports, award presentations, and elections to the board of directors.
 
It was announced that the board of directors had approved new zoning regulations for Bantam AAA male zoning changes that will come into effect for the start of the 2014-2015 season.
 
Other topics presented included updates on the Hockey PEI Strategic Plan; Respect in Sport Parent program; Officiating Pilot Project; updates related to Hockey Canada E-learning for certification clinics and updates related to changes by Hockey Canada to body checking at the Pee Wee level.  Provincial Championship winners were also recognized.   
 
Hockey PEI also confirmed that the branch will be hosting the following events in 2015; Atlantic Major Midget Championship, Maritime Northern Junior C Championship and the Don Johnson Cup Atlantic Junior B Championships.  Selected host sites will be confirmed in the coming months.

In conjunction with the Annual General Meeting, several awards were presented at the awards ceremony.  Hockey PEI honored participants and volunteers who have devoted themselves to the betterment of the game.  Hockey PEI was honored to present awards in the following categories.
