Another close game at home ends in 2-2 tie

2014-12-29

The Red Devils came out strong against the Lynx, when Sam Parsons scored in the first minute of play. Assisting on the goal were Gavin Mason and Drew MacPhee.

The rest of the period saw both teams have possession of the puck, and Pownal went into the second period with a 1-0 lead.

Southside scored early on, then took a penalty and killed it off. Players on both ends played hard through the second, and goalie Carson Gray made some clutch saves to keep it tied at one.

In the third, Pownal put on a passing clinic that ended with Parsons second goal of the night, with assists from Mason and D-man Aiden Arsenault. Southside took another penalty and killed it off, as Gray made some more nice saves.

With less than two minutes left, the Lynx scored again. The visitors took another penalty with less than a minute left in play, and while Pownal worked hard to try to go ahead, the final score was 2-2.

The Red Devils had 15 shots for, while Southside had 16.Parsons had this to say after the game, "The game was pretty good, we had some nice passes." Of his goal, the forward said he was able to get a good look at the net and pick his spot both times.

The boys will host the Sherwood Falcons tonight at 7:10 in Pownal.  Go Pownal Go!
