Team Jersey Care TipsReminder of Jersey Care
Welcome to the 2023/24 hockey season!
Now that many of the teams have been selected, we wanted to send out a note on how to properly care for the team jerseys.
Our volunteer jersey/equipment coordinator spends many hours ensuring the jerseys are ready for the season.
Each team, as a part of their team fees, pays a lump sum deposit on the jerseys that they sign out.
To ensure that your team receives their deposit back when the jerseys are returned at the end of the season, the following are suggestions for providing the best care of your jersey throughout the season;
- Name bars should only be sewn on the jerseys, never glued or ironed on.
- If you are putting small hems in the jerseys on the sleeves or bottom, please ensure this is also sewn and the hem is not glued or ironed on.
- Where possible, please use a garment/jersey bag when transporting your jerseys.
- Jerseys can be machine washed and dried. Please wash them separately from one another and in cold water.
- If your jerseys get wet or damp, please ensure that they are dry before they're put away so that mold doesn't grow on them.
- Sponsorship bars are not to be added to any individual team jerseys. Any sponsorship jersey bar inquiries are to be discussed with the Executive for further details.
Care for the jerseys is the responsibility of each player. At the end of each season, if the jerseys are returned in good condition, the teams receive their deposit back. (Regular wear on the jerseys is expected as part of playing hockey.)
If the jerseys are not returned or returned damaged (this includes damage or marks from an ironed on or glued name bar or hemming), then money will be deducted from the deposit going back to the team.
Thanks in advance everyone!
